Anybody Riding This Weekend?

Postby avejoe » Mon May 21, 2007 8:56 pm

I'm looking for a ride this weekend. Anybody going to brave Memorial Day and head to the hills? I'd prefer not to ride alone.

My wife and I are going up to the Bowman Lake area. We hope to find a place to camp. We aren't planning any major rides as the snow is still in the way. The NF web site says that road 18 is open all the way to Bowman Lake so hopefully we can find a place to camp.

Well we just got back. We had a great weekend. I have ridden in to Lake Bowman on Graniteville road once, and I have ridden in from Meadow Lake once. This time we camped very near the lake and rode out a little in all directions. I made it almost all the way back to Meadow Lake Sunday but I got stopped by snow at about 7300 ft. elevation. There are some sweet spots if you want ride in and camp right next to a little mountain lake. 8)

No..that was Weaver, which is above Bowman. Tollhouse, is not far from Meadow Lake...they were logging there, if you recall...the road is right near the lake.

Here are a couple photos of Tollhouse on Sunday. Both Tollhouse and Weaver lakes are the ones I was referring to.
