Con on Memorial

Postby Ken » Sat May 26, 2007 4:49 pm

Wow....Lori and I went to the Con today so I could do some Trail Patrol. We saw JC at the Kiosk. He and Sanders from the County Dept of Health were handing out spill kits and trash bags.

Trail was packed...Loon was packed....parking at the dam was packed. We parked at the Chalet...most used I've seen it. 18 rigs were there at Noon on Saturday.

Pick up trash....a fair amount. I'll post on the Trail Patrol site...but we should have a clean up crew hit the trail from Loon to Buck next weekend.

I was out there on Sat morning too. Lots of people on the Rubicon so I turned around and rode up to Bugle Lake and around Bunker Hill. Only saw a few people there.

I was out there all weekend too. I was at the sluice box saturday night. It seemed pretty low key. Not to many people running the box. I talked with the forest rangers and they counted 75 rigs around little sluice. I picked up some trash but there wasnt as much as I expected. I will have some pictures tonight or tomorrow.

Awesome, thanks guys! Looks like we had GREAT coverage for the weekend.

I'll post up at the Trail Patrol boards, but we need to get a good Trail Patrol group in force for the June 30th FOTR workparty. Not only at the kiosk but on the trial. There are supposed to be some magazine articles coming out of this work party, so in addition to staffing the kiosk it would be great to see some people on the western part of the trail too! Plus there's the whole FREE shindig at Robb's!

I'll be up there for the FOTR workparty, hoping some of the RTP folks on this board can too!
