Ball Joints....SHOT

After welding back together...at least 4 serious frame cracks....My ball joints in the front wheels are completely shot....

I guess maybe I should check mine.....

BTW - Don't feel bad, I blew out BOTH of my rear shocks...... Need to order new ones today. :D

The part number is the same for a 02 and 04

Sometimes they rust in there. you might have to weld a bolt to the ball joint and use a slide hammer to get them out.

I just took it in...I was going to do it myself...but I realized, my Bendix was screwing up too.


The guy at the shop, said he has a special tool to pull it out.


(probably a welded bolt and a hammer) :)

did you notice at the bottom of the parts page is a link for ridge runners, looks like they canabulize polaris 700 and 800 and those are the parts that are left over. http://www.ridgerunner.biz/

Say Mr. M did you get shock from that supplier I told you about?
Did you go for the hole shock assy. or just the shock it self?
Are the old ones still around?

Damn, I forgot to check on the shocks. I only looked for the radiator grill which after shipping was the same price....

Hummmm, I got the shocks through Polaris. Looks like the shocks were about the same price as what I could have gotten the whole shock and assembly for. Oh well..... That's what I get for not paying attention.

As far as the old shocks go..... They're still on my quad..... Seems I've been working lot's of hours these days. I barely have time to mow my lawn(s).
